| Getting around Grenada - Grenada Waterfalls | ||||
Grenada realized its natural resources long ago and has protected them through their Forestry Department.
The Grand Etang National Park, located in the interior of the island, has wonderful trails that take you through this tropical paradise. This may be a misleading name for a tour, as 7 Sisters Falls is a series of beautiful falls though they don't total 7, yet the truth of Grenada comes out when you trek on this adventure. This is a moderate hike and your guides are trained to make sure you travel safely and in comfort. Once you reach the first of two waterfalls in the heart of the dense rainforest, you can slip on your swimsuit and enjoy the rewards of the crystal clear pool at the base of the falls. The water pressure almost feels like a massage as you stand underneath its flow. Sounds of the jungle are around you and you may catch the sounds of the monkeys that make this jungle their home. For those who are agile and want to feel like Tarzan, there is a Tree Root Ladder to climb up. A picnic lunch of a sandwich and a drink energizes before you soak in a hot spring pool with ancient carvings on the surrounding rocks, but remember what goes down must come up and you will return to your vehicle on foot. This does prove to be an unforgettable 4 hours of your life.
