Getting around Grenada - Grenada Hiking
Hiking around Lake AntoineCrater Lake AntoineThis shallow crater lake, like Grand Etang, is host to a wide variety of wildlife.
The lake's perimeter trail, a beautiful walk in itself, is another of Grenada's excellent attractions for birdwatchers.
Among the species frequently sighted are the snail kite, the fulvous whistling duck, large billed seed-finch, gray kingbird and limpkin.
It is the second largest lake on the island, the largest is Grand Etang Lake.
I won't suggest that you come to St Patricks just for Lake Antoine, but you certainly will want to stop by if you are ever in the area.

Lake Antoine is the source of River Antoine, which plays a vital role at River Antoine Estate, the home of Grenada's famous Rivers Rum.
A nice spot for pictures, and appreciating Grenada's unspoilt beauty.
Organic Grown BananasThe fertile soil around the lake is used for the cultivation of Organic Bananas that are exported.

Located on the road up to Levera, this caldera (remnants of an extinct collapsed volcanoe) has filled with fresh terrestrial runoff.
Covering approximately 16 acres, the lake is home to a wide diversity of species: coconut tress, sugar cane, bananas, watermelons, and other agricultural crops; the lake and neighboring mangrove support tropical birds, fishes, crabs, and other unique marine life.

Birdwatchers frequent the lake regularly as it is a favorite stopping point for migratory birds.
Just minutes from the lake are Antoine Bay and beach, situated on the rugged Atlantic coast; the rough surf and blossoming mangrove are well known and accessed by many.

Don’t forget to visit the historical River Antoine Rum Distillery just around the corner.
