She is equipped with top-quality fishing tackle from 30lb to 80lb class rods and reels, outriggers, a large fighting chair, teasers, downrigger and tag stick. Electronics include GPS/Chart Plotter, Echo Sounder and VHF Radio. The new season started dramatically.
We fish four rods on the FISHING DECK plus one more rod from the FLYBRIDGE, this last one known as the SHOTGUN because it rides behind the other four lures farthest from the boat.
Our large fighting chair awaits your pleasure !
Below follow a few comments by fishermen on the Wayward Wind sportfishing boat. David Alton from the UK wanted his string pulled and we obliged in serious manner. John The Crew saw porpoises splashing, Capt.Stewart turned the steering wheel and with only two lures yet in the water, we hooked our first BLUE MARLIN of the day before 7am. It took John over an hour to bring the great fish to the boat, obviously didn't go on that body-building course, and the marlin ran rings round us at the back of the boat before we finally had her alongside to be tagged and released. Est.weight : 260 lbs. SAILFISH trimmed us up as usual, the first two raised just stole our baits, without a chance of a strike. Then a really good one - possibly 100 lbs - took Mr.Purple, ripped off 50 yards of line and pulled the hook. I left the bait where it was for several minutes while we sorted out the fishing deck, we had two DORADO strikes at the same time, before recovering Mr. Purple.
